Just seen this on the net.

Fake?

I have little to no experience in this field haha but the serial number looks to me like it's in pencil and it's pretty off to the side?

Is my intuition right?

It is fine. It was done with a Dremel-type rotating engraver. It is a 1985 Order of the Patriotic War, of which millions were awarded to veterans as a jubilee issue. Due to the millions of awardings in a short amount of time, the serial number is rather "rushed."

Perfectly good 1985 issue.

There are LOTS of these out there with only minor variation and are not being faked much at this time.

Well that's a new piece of knowledge :-)

It's on the site that shall not be named for £37 but it's in Israel so i think i'll have a look a little closer to home.

That sort of money is a good bit over the odds...

Not long ago (3-4 years ago) these could be picked up for £7-8 any time day or night from sellers within Great Britain. Those days are gone but not as far away as £37 - yet!

I'll keep my eyes out for a nice cheap one then :-)

Cheapest 2nd class in the uk on tintywebs i can see is £30 with £6 P&P.

I think i'll just wait it out for a while!

Hello gentlemen,

please leave your comments on this about this 2nd class OGPW I have just purchased together with other orders (posted soon as well) for an excessive price as usual. Beside the fact that is not a bargain, I hope it is good (have a look to the bent blade of the sicle). Thank you.
