This example has a considerably different suspension than usually seen - shorter and different device. This may have been the type awards to Koreans in the Red Army as this was sourced directly from the DPRK and not from former Soviet territory.

This example is considerably more convex than other examples I've seen. Often they are completely flat.
The prices of these have dropped along with Soviet awards. Whereas they were $80-$100 each they are now under $20.

The original decree paper about establishment of 'Korea Liberation Commemoration Medal'. This scan is from the magazine <Worker(로동자)> Oct. 1948 KOR - SOV friendship special issue. Translation is exactly same as Sessler's book.
