2. Mortarman in the 1st Mortar Company Guards Private Tikhon Semyonovich Zhulkov, for the fact that he, during the fighting for the village of Gribovy Dvory in the Oryol Oblast, displayed courage and bravery.
During the repulsion of an enemy counterattack on August 13, 1943, comrade Zhulkov, working as a mortar layer, brought down a hammering fire right on the enemy target, cutting off the enemy infantry from the tanks, which was partially destroyed and partially fled in a disorderly fashion, and also forced the enemy tanks to turn around, which aided in the repulsion of the enemy counterattack.

He wasn't decorated previously.

Born in 1907, Russian, not a party member, worker, had two classes of education, drafted into the Red Army on April 10, 1942 by the military commissariat of the Komintern Raion of the Voronezh Oblast. Place of birth: Voronezh Oblast, Usman Raion, village of Novo-Ugdyanka. Wife: Maria Yefimovna Zhulkova, lives there too.
