I guess, Nikitievich, or Nikitievna (if female). There are also some other variants of this patrionymic: Nikitovich, Nikitich.

Pardon me ignorance, but what would be a definition of "croft"? I was told years ago at school that it is "Scottish word for farm".

Oxford English Dictionary definition:

a small rented farm, especially one in Scotland, comprising a plot of arable land attached to a house and with a right of pasturage held in common with other such farms.

an enclosed field used for tillage or pasture, typically attached to a house and worked by the occupier.

Where I come from (which is certainly not Scotland) a croft is a self-sustaining farm. Where you produce enough for your own domestic needs rather than for commerce.

Sort of like "The Good Life".

Those who know my address know I live on an old Yorkshire croft. It has not been rented since the mid 19th century and was never "enclosed". Far from "self-sustained" these days too. A croft never-the-less and one of many found in rural Yorkshire.
