Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
I already posted the Berlin/Koenigsberg in the other thread, but figured I'd post these two liberation medals here. I think the Warsaw is a Variant 3...the ring appears ground flat and there is more detail on the furls of the banner...similar to the V3 example from Mondvor (left).

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
This Prague seems to me like a Variant 2, based on the ring and the rays on the obverse. The lack of finer detail on the leaves at the bottom is a bit of a concern to me, however. Do you gents have any thoughts on these? The research of these medals is new to me, and I'm really enjoying it!

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
I think these strange jaunty angles are a deliberate attempt by the seller to retard people from comparing them from usual illustrations of the obverse and reverse.

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
Has anyone seen examples of fake V2 medals with the u-shaped rings? I've looked through these threads and it seems as though all the medals confirmed to be fakes had V1-type round rings. Are there fakes floating around with the ground off, u-shaped rings?
