Charlet,

Enamel problems are quite common with those badges, but look carefuly, because they may also be later repairs.

Excellent Badges

Gentlemen,

What do you think about these Badges? Any chance they could be original WWII or just modern replicas?

Thanks,

Dolf

EDIT: Sorry, not sure if this is the right section to post this, if not please move it to the appropriate section :o

Andreas,

I don't have one, but can ask the seller.
Is that crucial for finding out from which period they are?
What would be the differences?

Thanks a lot,

Dolf

None of the badges are ww2 issue. At best they are a later issue or possibly fakes. These badges are heavily faked and one way to tell good from bad is the revese.
If you check out some of the dealers at least one of them have a good selection of photos of how ww2 badges should look like. Also a forum search would give lots of info.

Thank you Kim.

I also suspect them to be either fake or modern replicas, but the seller insists that "... All badges on scan is 100% originals. These badges in very good condition perhaps therefore for you look as replicas..."

Yeah, right...

What do you think? Is it possible to say now if they are from the WWII period or modern replicas?
If from WWII what would be a fair price for one of these?
And if a more recent replica?

PS: After carefully watching and comparing both pics I wonder if these are really the reverse of the same Badges on post #1 !!!
What do you think?...

Ok, apparently not the same!
These posted above should be the reverse of these I'm posting now.

Opinions?

Thanks,

Dolf

I don't like to say what is fake and what is not just from a photo. A photo can only tell you so much. But I can tell what I personally would buy buy and stay away from.

The only one I would consider buying is ex. PVO. The others are not what I would expect from these type of badges. I do not think you will miss much if you pass on these badges.

Kim,

Caution is a rule I also tend to adopt, specially when things are offered to me from someone I never heard about before or was not recommended by other fellow collectors as a reliable seller/dealer! So I guess you are right ;)

Thanks a lot,

Dolf

PS: PVO?

Better safe than sorry :D

PVO is the Russian abreviation of Air defence, the badge with the Anti Air Craft Gun on it. What PVO stand for...I forget but I am sure some other forum member knows. Perhaps it is findable with a search here on the forum?
