The edition offered to your attention represents attempt of creation of the full catalogue of breastplates and the counters issued in the USSR in 1917-1946. In the book the signs founded by national commissariats, and also signs on various volunteer societies, the departmental, professional, educational, creative organizations, the unions and clubs are described. Signs - for winners in socialist competition or for achievements in sports, anniversary, memorable and souvenir are widely submitted also.

For each sign its full description, the color image, date of establishment, a material for its manufacturing are resulted.

Hello,

Book very expensive: 6298 rubles !

I found this book on a russian site (http://www.ozon.ru/context/book_detail/id/2139457/)
But without speaking russian, too hard to buy!! :cry:

PS: there is also a book from the same editor on soviet awards

Did anyone ever buy one of these or see a copy. I'm considering buying them, but they are rather expensive.

The badge book is interesting, albeit expensive; the orders and medals book is not worth it at all (contains only very basic information, illustrations show only a drawing of the front side, no varieties, etc).

I have the Orders and Medals book that you mentioned and I paid dearly for it. :cry:
Photos are not quality and the varieties are not described. A good portion (100 pages) of the book were photographs of just documents.

I was very disappointed and would not recommend it.
