Medal For Loyal Service To The German State Railway.
Here is the Medal For Faithful Service To The German State Railway (Medaille Für Treue Dienste Bei Der Deutschen Reichsbahn) which was founded on 18th March 1956 in three classes (Gold - 50 Years, Silver - 40 Years and Bronze - 25 Years). On 28th March 1973 a Gold with Honour Clasp was created and the service period modified (Gold With Honour Clasp- 40 Years Males, 35 Years Females, Gold - 30 Years, Silver - 20 Years and Bronze - 10 Years).
This example is the Bronze Class and cost only a few cents.

CtahhR - Nice medal you have posted. From the photos you posted, your medal and ribbon appear to an early issue due to the clasp.

I believe it is the earlier clasp. The price was reasonable too, under $1 delivered.
I have lots of DDR items I will have to dig out later.
