Re: Petruhin, Aleksandr Efremovich, Colonel, SMERSH/Special Detachments MGB/MVD/KGB
Even though his service record from TsA MO was not complete, I have his party record booklet which shows his career.
He became a party candidate in 1940 and a full member in 1941. The number of the party ID doesn't match, but since the one listed is M54... He probably got a new one and it was not noted. His father was a main accountant, his mother - a housewife. HE had higher education, Ulianovsk Armor Troops Officer School in 1938 and KGB higher school in 1960. His speciality is given as "Soviet Army Officer, Lawyer" Had no scientific title and had the following awards: 2 ORS, OPW2 and 9 medals; Veteran of Labor in 1977 30 Years of victory in 1975 60 years of armed forces in 1978 40 years of victory in 1985 ... |

...
OPW2 in 1985 70 years of the armed forces in 1988 50 years of the KPSS membership badge. No knowledge of foreign languages (apparently his "contact with german language" and time spent in Germany was not enough) He was on a "special" military record, whatever that means (either as a reserve officer with limitations or because he was on the KGB record) He was not a member of allied communist parties and was not a member of the KPSS earlier. And now his service record: VIII.1932-VIII.1934 - Worked as a locksmith at wool clothing factory named after Gimov in Isheevka, Ulianovsk Rayon, Kuybyshev Oblast VIII.1934-III.1936 - student of an industrial technical school in Ulyanovsk III.1936-VIII.1936 - worked again as a locksmith in the same factory VIII.1936-X.1938 - cadet atthe Red Banner ArmorTroops School named after Lenin in Uyanovsk X.1938-II.1939 - commander of a cadet platoon in the same school II.1939-II.1940 - operative plenipotentiary of the special dettachment of the NKVD for Ural Military District in Sverdlovsk II.1940-IX.1941 - operative plenipotentiary of the special dettachment of the NKVD for the 190th NKVD Troops Regiment in Berezniki, Perm Oblast. IX.1941-XII.1941 - senior operative plenipotentiary of the special dettachment of the NKVD for the 25th NKVD Troops Division in Ural Military District XII.1941-VI.1943 - deputy chief of a department of the special dettachment of the NKVD for the 152 Rifle Division, Karelian and South-Western Fronts VI.1943-X.1945 - Assistant chief of the "SMERSH" counterintelligence dettachment of the 34 Rifle Corps. 3rd Ukrainian Front and Odessa Military District. VII.1946-I.1948 - Deputy chief of the MGB counterintelligence dettachment of the 10 Guards Rifle Corps. Odessa Military District. I.1948-II.1949 - Cadet of the military unit 356 (no idea what that is - some officer perfectioning courses for the MGB?) in Kharkov II.1949-VIII.1950 - Deputy chief of the MGB counterintelligence dettachment of the Odessa Military District. VIII.1950-III.1953 - Deputy chief of the depatment of the MGB counterintelligence command, Soviet Group of forces in Germany III.1953-IX.1953 - chief of the department of the MVD counterintelligence command of the Central Croup of Forces. More and more resources can be found on pamyat-naroda. I have even managed to find first of Antonina's citations (when she was still the secretary of the tribunal, her Smersh ones are not available). And while the service record photos are the samo ones I have, their war-time photograps are available:
