Parachutist Badges

Estimated friends of the forum:

I supposse that this item is a Parachute Badge model 1968... But, what is the function of the romboidal brass at the low end (marked 1 in one side & 2 in the other one)?.

Thank you so much & Excuse, please, my HORRIBLE English, again (& the quality of scan image, of course).

Labor, Health & (peacefully) Revolution.

The small metal hanger with numbers are for additional jumps. Thus, the recipient of this badge has made 32 jumps. Replacing the small metal piece every couple of jumps was easier than redoing the whole badge. A new badge would have been awarded for jumps in increments of 10.

Red Max,

On this variation the number "30" is also replaceable.

Hi red max

here are some more para badges.....I like em..cheap and good looking whilst being worn by good guys.

I jumped on Russian Military parachutes last year and they are very good which gives me an added interest in these.

regards chris

Hi Red max

The numbered badges 100 200 500 are 1968 designs and the 300's are 1955.

The single jump badges are 1931 (the smallest) and the other 1968.

Avers 1

Chris

Chris,

I managed to pick up a 100 jump badge today for £4 at a local show. I see there are a whole bunch more to collect yet!

Strangely enough, I;ve never fancied the jumping mind :o)

Kind Regards,
Shane Cook
