Re: For the Capture of New York
The propagandists creating such fantasies are obvious very out of touch of the reality of current events. The armed forces of the United States, Russian Federation and Iran and all united towards the same goal in Iraq.
It's all well and good stirring up anti-whoever rhetoric when there's nothing better to do but currently everybody's plate is full with considerably more important events. Maybe the idiots making these should be making "For the elimination of AIDS", "For the cure of cancer", "For the end of hunger", "For international and inter-faith co-operation", I could go on. Every nation has enough problems of their own without creating any more. I've noticed similar propaganda "bits" with various other nationalist or anti-west sentiment that have been offered as real awards with outrageous price tags (sometimes over $200). In reality they are just fancy keyring fobs (or pocket watch fobs if anyone other than myself still wears a pocket watch). Speculative investment? Now there'd be a greater fool!

Re: For the Capture of New York
I think the "medal" was was discussed allready on this forum - it was a gadget added to a computer game. US-made computer game.

Re: For the Capture of New York
I think it was Red Alert 3. Obviously a continuation of the cold war is good for sales.
I wonder how long before a Crimea 2014 or Ukraine 2014 game makes the rounds? Many of these games are as historically accurate as Wolfenstein and don't give folks a good sense of history. Heart Of Iron for me any day. Playing as the USSR you can be Stalin any time you have the urge.
