You were indeed fortunate to obtain this interesting group for your collection inasmuch as I too had my eye on it.

Re: Sergeant Jakov Iosefovich Kramarenko, Wounded Mortar Commander.

There have been (and will be) plenty of groups for all of us. What endears me to this is the fact that is is "complete" (less the award book) but the fact he was a railworker really is a cherry on the cake.

If it had not been a Christmas gift I'm sure someone else would have been posting it. It is high on the list of "to frame" groups. I'll get post a photograph when it does get framed (don't hold your breath).

It really seems like someone high up didn't want anyone in that Oblast getting a Glory III. The wound must have put a real strain on his health if he was in Hospital for 4 months and a week and then pensioned off at age 50. Reassuring that he was still able to serve the state as a signalman. A job that won't have required too much physical strain nor a high level of education.

This group will be going on Public display at a later date.

Re: Sergeant Jakov Iosefovich Kramarenko, Wounded Mortar Commander.

I was unable to pinpoint just which settlement it was. It doesn't help the quest when it will have been renamed.... There can be quite a challenge when an SSR settlement had an Imperial name, Early Communist name, De-Stalinised name and a Modern name that can be recorded in the original language or Russian.
Great for cartographers that want to sell more maps.
