I have the following sentence too, if you dont mind.

I have the literal translation but i just cant seem to make a logical sentence from it!

В период дислокации дивизии, оркестр, участником который являлся Деньговский, пропускал и сопровождал подразделения дивизии, за что получил две благодарности лично от командира дивизии.

In the period deployed with the division, orchestra, participated with the Dengov (Orchestra?), played with and accompanied divisional units, for which he received two personal gratitude from the divisional commander.

Obviously seeing the original text, in context, is more helpful.

More of "a map the area so we can advance as swiftly as possibly along the best route" type of thing.

My experience doing topographical surveys is a rather dull, wet tab through peaks ensuring that obstacles, paths, inclines and other bits were exactly as indicated on previously existing maps/charts.

I think the Topographical services being provided here may well have been a case of updating the maps/charts during/after the advance to ensure that all the information was as up to date as possible. Destroyed, newly created and inaccurate landmarks etc. will be corrected - plenty of knocked out bunkers or blown bridges will have been changed and pontoons added.

Perfect Bill! The unit was also awarded the honorific "Rymnik" (a river in Romania).
