Short description of personal combat feat or service

In fighting for the city of Ternopol, Volokitin and his squad were attached to the 3rd Rifle Battalion. In the course of this fighting, his squad destroyed three firing positions and seven enemy soldiers, captured eleven soldiers and one officer. While conducting an operation, an enemy sniper wounded a squad member and Volokitin clandestinely crawled toward the anti-tank rifle, discovered from where the sniper was firing, and killed him with the ATR. He has proven himself a bold, decisive commander in combat and able to control the combat situation.

He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.

Endorsed Commander, 117th Guards Rifle Division, Guards Colonel Volkovich on 30 April 1944

Re: Glory III,009180,Sniper Killer

Anti-Tank Round versus the human body is not much of a fight but it is a mess.

Also received a "For Valour" and OPW2'85.
