Guards Badges.
Hello,
found this boxed guards badge last weekend on the fleamarket. The badge is protected with plastic on the front and was painted with colour. Does somebody know more about this boxes. In which time period they used these boxes? regards Andreas |

Alfred,
That looks like a standard badge box. I have a few of these. Marc |

Does this look like a 50's era brass badge to you?

It's not WWII vintage. As to how you tell between 1950s production and 60s or 70's production, I don't know. If anyone does know a method of dating post-war guards badges I'd be interested in knowing.

Nack,
You need the book "Badges of the Red Army", it details the various (and numerous!) issues of this, and other, badges. Marc |

Thanks for the info Marc. Even with that silver colored screwnut? Additionally, the post before mine was by "Dannybou". He was a regular here and at another site for a while and gave me a lot of help. I haven't seen him post since August. Anybody know what's up with him?

Eric,
It has a small star, so at least mid-1950 and later. Alexei |
