Re: BCXB & BDHX medals

Guys,

The 1940 issue is rarer (for whatever reason) than the 1939. I wouldn't be surprized to see this nice medallion being restored to its former glory with a "genuine" silver ring and a proper suspension.

Marc

PS: Simon, yes, we are. And what a top-notch vintage that is ;)

Re: BCXB & BDHX medals

Andreas,

Can you, please, tell me what is the source of these figures? The ones I have been able to find are somewhat different.

Re: BCXB & BDHX medals

Hello Marc,

I copied the dates/figures from the WDNCH medals a longer time ago from the internet.
I have no clue what the source was.

What figures do you have?

best regards
Andreas

Re: BCXB & BDHX medals

Andreas,

I have two different sets of information.

The first one comes from the official documents of the VDNKh:
1939
- Large gold (583/000) mintage 500
- Small gold (583/000) mintage 1000
- Large silver (925/000) mintage 2000
- Small silver (925/000) mintage not limited
1940
- Large gold (583/000) mintage 500
- Small gold (583/000) mintage 1000
- Large silver (925/000) mintage 2000
- Small silver (925/000) mintage not limited

The second one, it turns out, is the same one as yours (I had not looked at it for a long time). It is originally a PowerPoint file written in German. However, I have always found it to be questionable with no source of any kind being cited.

Sergio, Nice pictures and documents!

I like the way you post the english and cyrillic versions of the writing.

Very helpful!

Here is a 1941 Medal Document for the Small Silver Medal awarded to Ahmedzhan Marimov "For the best examples of work in agriculture" on 26th March 1951.

With the Exhibition closing on 1st July 1941 it was 13 years before it was back in full swing so these unused documents were re-purposed until c1954.

I've included all the rules so there is no confusion as to how many of each Medal were supposed to be awarded.

500 Large Gold with 3000 Rubles prize money
1000 Small Gold with 2000 Rubles prize money
2000 Large Silver with 1000 Rubles prize money
5000 Small Silver with 500 Rubles prize money
