My WW2 display
I received the last major item I was waiting for in my new WW2 display.
I'd still like to find 2 or 3 cap stars to add in the areas where there's some excess space but for the most part I think I'm done. For the first time I've labeled what I have on the front of the display (as opposed to a sheet if paper taped to the back). I also added the serial number and the approximate award date. Additionally, I mounted the screwplates of the 2 T1V3 medals to the front because both plates are hallmarked, and both screwposts were too short to accept the plates once mounted through the backing. ? ? PS. A big to the dealers who've helped me out and hooked me up. I'M TOTALLY ADDICTED

Is it just me, or is there only half a ribbon on the rectangular suspension bravery medal?

No, you're right. The ribbon's very worn on both those old suspension medals.

That is a very nice display Eric
Personally, I prefer original ribbons to newer one whenever possible, even if it means that sometime they are beaten up like yours. Collecting is not only addicting as Alexei says, it is also contagious and I feel this thread about displaying our awards contribute greatly to this contagion! |

small update
I found 2 nice WW2 era cap stars (thanks Richie) on eBay to round off this display. Here they are mounted with all their buddies from the GPW.
Now I have my eye on a possible WW2 era ribbon bar to mount in the space above the two T1 medals

Framed another OGIII this weekend. It's getting crowded on my wall

Very nice Brendan! I like the photos flanking it. Gives it some good context.

How to display Soviet awards
Brendan,
WELL DONE!!! I agree with Eric about the photos. As for wall space...We are in the same boat. So many medals, to little wall space. Doc |

re-done
I was able to buy another (last?) large set of exp. and prototype boards; here is how the new display looks "complete". DougD
