I received a package today from one of Baltic States and its packaging put a smile on my face. I have been collecting for years and received medals in all sorts of ingenious packaging methods including foil, cigarette packs, taped medals to paper with tape right over the medals and no packaging whatsoever but today’s package is the best one ever!

This guy actually took his time and utilized the "Russian Ingenuity" and created this:

Rusty,

It's indeed very creative and ingenious, buddy!
First time I see one like this either! And I've already seen quite a few (not as much of you of course!) types of packaging, some good, some bad. This one is almost "artistic" At least the screws are quite well protected this way!

Best,

Dolf

I once received a package just like that...I forget where it was from, but it was highly effective, and I'm sure time-consuming to make...

What a clever idea. I've got some interesting new things, so I'm going to try this when I get home, maybe in combo with bubble wrap and USPS Priority envelopes or boxes, and maybe sandwiched with a couple of other pieces of corrugated cardboard. Can't beat it for price, either.

Anyone else using any clever and cheap packaging ideas?

I am impressed by the packing methods of Ukraine. They manage to get a full uniform set, (jacket, trousers,VISOR CAP,shirt and belt) into a box sized like those boxes you get A4 papers in, which are 21x29x30 cm. I dont know how they do it, and the uniform is not even damaged and hardly wrinkled... And they never use tape for their packages, just brown paper and thick thread...

The worst was a small package with a few medals from Estonia, the medals were taped to a piece of cardboard with heavy tape, and when removed half of the glue remained on the medals and they were sticky.
