Order Of Labour.
This is the description:p
"Soviet Union Medal Works Order of Excellence This is a Workers Order of Excellence. It is numbered and mint marked. It is in the original box. " Of course it's not Soviet, but what is this order?

Tal,
The full name of the it is "Orden rada sa srebenim vencem" or Labour Order with Silver medallion. The 2nd class has the medallion gold plated. The 1st class is of a very different design and has a red enamelled banner. (It is very nice looking.) In reality only this 1st class is called the Labour Order of the Red Banner. The others are just Labour Order 2nd and 3rd. The one shown is Type 1, it is a screwback and has a serial number. The Type 2 is pinback with no serial number (usually). They changed from Type 1 to Type 2 in 1971 or so. It is not very rare. It is made of silver-plated brass. It is worth about $10 here in the Balkans and maybe twice that abroad. Shawn |

Shawn,
here's 1st class that you're referring to: 1st class are quite rare with only 7,000 awarded. Made of silver and are goldplated. They sell for around $100. |

Thanks for posting the image. It is a great badge. I tink it is my favourite of all the East Bloc Red Banners of Labour. The one I currently own, the one I had and sold and the one you posted are all identical. I wonder if there was ever another version? I have never seen on s/b or with serial number.
