NKVD Frontier Troops Parade Tunic 1943

Here is one I have not had nor seen before; its an M1943 parade tunic for a General of the NKVD Frontier Troops. Same as the NKVD Troops Generals M1943, but with green piping.

Thats a strange embrodiery pattern on the cuff, was that specific to NKVD Border gneral officers?

This type of cuff was used on the M1943 parade uniform of NKVD / NKGB and Border Troop Generals. Unique to the NKVD overall.

Isn't this a M1945 parade tunic given it's double breasted, wave green?

hello,

no, its actually an M1943. In 1943 NKVD (NKVD troops, NKGB, Frontier Troops) got a new parade uniform. Unlike the M1943 army generals (see seperate thread) uniforms that were grey with a single breast and cuff bars, the NKVD generals were issued a blue/green double breasted tunic with unique cuffs. When it came time for the army/airforce to get new parade uniforms in 1945 they copied the NKVD pattern, though with changed cuffs.
