Speaking of maker's marks, the Tula arsenal had the arrow-in-star mark, while Ishevsk was teh hammer-and-sickle inside a wreath, correct?
Other than those two arsenals, were firearms made anywhere else? |

The SVT carbine, I cannot remember whether it was the SVT-38 or 40, was briefly made at the Kovrov arsenal. This armory if I am not mistaken was generally making small caliber cannon for the Yak fighters, and possibly small field pieces. The Kovrov logo was a long oval with an arrow within it. I have seen photos of the PPSH-41 submachine gun with an arsenal stamp of a shield with a star within that shield. I do not know what arsenal that this mark represents. I've checked my copy of "Soviet Small Arms and Ammunition" and could not find any mention of this other than that PPSH could be easily assembled in workshops. |

I've just received this book in the mail recently. It is about the M1895 Nagant Revolver. Although the text is in Russian, it shows all the arsenal marks, ammunition, and other stuff associated with the Nagant revolver. If I recall correctly, this book was limited to about 1000 copies. This one is book # 69.

Outstanding rifles, Rusty! :thumbsup Here is something that I just could not pass up in a local sporting good store. It is a Yugoslavian M70 that was assembled by Century Arms from Yugoslavian parts and built with new semiautomatic receivers, and from what I understand, even have new barrels.

Roy,
Very nice! I'm still trying to fill all of my Russian holes... I'm on a lookout for a nice SVT rifle and have a Type II AK-47 being finished by Firing Line plus trying to get all the needed parts for my Type III kit made into a AKS-47... I'll post pics when they are all done! Rusty.
