A busy day but a "generously stocked buffet"! (An open bar would have done it for me)

I believe that in 1979 the reglamentation was an every-day issue again (I believe that the meat coupons were introduced some year or two earlier?) and the shelves in butcher stores were empty. Getting a bottle of vodka was easier than getting large amount of varying food at that moment. Being able to take advantage of the "generously stocked buffet" was much more of an atractor than an open bar.

I'm sure as a member of the allotment and anglers' unions he won't have gone hungry but I'd still go for an open bar over a smörgåsbord any day.
