Overlooked "Soviet" Propaganda.
Whilst stoning some plums in the barn today I came across these obscure pieces of "Soviet" Propaganda. I have absolutely no idea where they came from and I've never seen them before.
The photo doesn't make me want to buy a Lada more "Say No To Strangers!".

"Unbiased" Propaganda. Nice to see Thatcher getting a mention 3 years before she became Prime Minister in this Lada advert....

Re: Overlooked "Soviet" Propaganda.
Looks like a bad investment... The scrap man does not pay prices anything like that for these heavy beasts these days.

They were and are ugly cars; however, if you run out of gas out in Nowhere, Russia you could take out the windshield/screen cleaning fluid bottle under the hood and pour the cheap vodka that was in there as a de-icer into the gas tank and you might make it far enough to get yourself rescued. P.

Re: Overlooked "Soviet" Propaganda.
Hmmm. do you know what is interesting? The prices £1.500 in average? What?
£1was equal something 1.20 rubles. The average price of new car in SU was 8.000 rubels.

Re: Overlooked "Soviet" Propaganda.
My mom owned a Lada in the 70's or 80's here in the Netherlands. She said it was quite reliable, until the front window broke (she didn't had money to let it be fixed, so she drove with a broken window for some time).

Re: Overlooked "Soviet" Propaganda.
My parents once drove a Lada too They've owned several Western cars since, but the Lada was by far the most reliable
