Here is another email received on my inquiry about the same book:

Hello Danny,
No I don't have that book, it is in Bulgarian and concentrates more on the
pre-Communist Royalist medals issued up to 1944. I can ask if I can get you
one and get back to you on it, but I will also tell you to wait till you
hear from me because my friend in Bulgaria if I recall correctly mentionned
this book will be having a second printing next year and the text will be
fully bilingual (Bulgarian-English) then not just the photo captions as it
is now.

In any event, I bought a smaller reference book titled Bulgarian Communist Titles, Orders and Medals by Boyan Savov. It is small with few details but gives the reader an idea of what the awards were given for.

hello, I recently bought what seems to be the first edition of Todor Petrov book's on bulgarian orders and medals (royaulty and people republic). Entirely written in bulgarian, Sofia, 1998 dated. Not a lot of photos about booklets.

Is there some of you fellow who have the following edition wih english translation?
I would know if the author has brought more booklets photos in the second edition...(bevause I don't need to buy the second edition if the only novelty is the english translation)

I have the 2002 edition of Petrov's book. An introduction is provided in English and all pictures are subtitled in English. The general text is Bulgarian only. I assume the pictures are the same as in the earlier issue because in this issue also, almost no documents or booklets are shown.

hello Dietrich, thanks a lot for your help. Your hypothesis seem to be the only one good, because in my exemplar I see only pics for 1944-45 medal doc. Thanks a lot!

I bought this e-book on eBay a short time ago.
Pathetic low-quality pictures - seller apologised and said he would get back to me with a better quality version, but never did.

Complete rip-off, so don't waste your money....

I just bought a copy of the new 5th edition of Todor Petrov's book. This one is entirely in english and was published 13 october 2005, so last week.

Here's some info:

Honorary Titles, Orders and Medals of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria (1946-1990); 4. Orders and Medals in the Republic of Bulgaria (1990-2005), brand new part! This structure and the applied method of study provide the possibility for distinctions to be systemized and classified in separate subparts: Orders, Decorations, Medals or Honorary Titles, within the above-mentioned parts.The decorations are arranged in a chronological order, according to date of institution. The book also contains several tables with the number of people awarded with the awards of higher rank.

I just saw it for sale at $100. Too rich for me. So is it comparable in scope and depth to PMD's book?
