The medals are virtually identical to their V1 USSR counterparts (front and back). The hangers, however, look more like those of the Medal for Distinguished Military Service (sans cloth and star). They do seem a bit thicker and smoother-edged (if that is an appropriate term) than the Soviet ones as well. I'm sure you saw a very similar approach to the excellent MVD badge I posted.:) The apples didn't fall far from the tree. Phillip
