This is my polar defense type 1 medal, one of my favorite items in my collection. It's been preserved really well over the years and it's a good example that a wartime medal can be in a condition as good as voenkomat medal.

Here's one that slipped through the cracks and managed not to get posted until now. Tidy original connecting ring, two piece kolodka and well used ribbon.

At some point it has had a copper wash over the brass (mainly visible on the rear) which seems strange as usually things are made Golden or Silver. Someone may have been excited whilst cleaning/polishing and picked up the wrong liquid.

I'd really like to see one of these Medals in a group where the recipient received the LVOG and not military variation.

This is my newest document. It came with a VOG also. I believe his name is Vukmor Andreivich Tukalo? (I'm trying to learn how to read these better). Can anyone shed any more light on this?
