The plastic coating over the center part of the medal seems to be partially removed. It was a wierd thing to do with a medal anyways.

Doesn't that star on the ribbon look bigger than usual? ine are in storage so I can't compare.
I like the "enamel" blue and red on the newer RF awards.

Good point on the star. I just checked mine and in neither class does the star points touch the green of the ribbon. Not sure what that means as the start doesn't really look like it belongs to anything else. Hopefully it's not the star from RF epaulets which I understand are smooth rather than the soviet pebbled.

Here is the best I could do at getting a close up of the star. It appears to have been on this ribbon for quite some time due to the slight staining around it.
