Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 1st Class
The "1985" Types start just over 450,000 for 1st Class and 980,000 for 2nd Class. These Types are still being issued as a very small trickle to veterans and their next of kin.

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
Interested in whether or not this is real, and what something like this is worth, roughly?

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
Im pretty sure the body is ok. But is the hammer and sickle a replacement? It looks a little undefined and the rivets look odd on the reverse.
I have just woken up though so ill have another look after ive drunk a coffee! Tom |

I don't agree with Tommy. I don't see any problems with this piece. But let's wait for a conclusive opinion... ;)
Ow, and I would estimate the value between $80-$100 |

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
hello Tommy, the rivets seem perfectly original and untouched. The picture is a little blurred and I would need a picture reference t be definitive... But a replaced H&C with plated metal would not have been replaced so properly IMHO.

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
I'm not sure if this is a first class or second class. I have one more that has me confused. As always, curious about authenticity and value, and any other good info you guys feel like sharing. Very impressed at how helpful and knowledgeable you guys are.

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
The other one that I suspect may be 1st class and not 2nd, but only because of the gold color.

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
They are both nice examples of the 1985 Jubilee Issue of the Order of the Patriotic War in 1st Class. . . Current market value, in my opinion, is about $35 to $50 (USD) depending on condition, more if you have the Order Book that accompanies this award listing the person's name and the serial number you see engraved/inscribed on the reverse. . .

Re: Fake Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd Class
Personally I really wouldn't like to see items like these selling for $50 even with documents. $35 with document is still a little "rich" for my tastes. The major factor in the market price of the 1985 issues is metal content.
With the complimentary documents the recipients can often be found on "the site" and a little more information presents itself. You won't find stories of heroics but a birth date and home town.
