Romanian Visor Caps

This cap was described to me as "communist" at the same time it was desribed as "from 1989". I understand that romanian politics were complicated after 1989, but still, what would be the period for this cap?

I know little about these, but it does not have the communist coat-of-arms, so it's post-1989.

Could You possibly help me with the uniform from the other thread?
I understand that uniforms may not be Your speciality, but You are more likely to find any inf than I. The only book in Poland that gives some info on romanian uniforms doesn't even cover this period...:(

Hello friends

Have you more information about this RSR visor cap? In my opinion AIR FORCE but has the AIR FORCE also different line colours (blue, light blue etc.)?

The cap is that of an Air Force Colonel; the cap insignia with two rows of leaves around the seal would be correct for ranks Lieutenant through Colonel, but the leaves on the visor make it a Colonel's cap. Insofar as I am able to determine, there were no "branch" colours in the aviation service, so the medium blue colour with the lighter blue piping was standard throughout that branch of service.

Just got in some Romanian visors...multi-era!

These first two are Artillery, from the Axis period...they have seen lots of wear!

Nice cap collection, Doug. With regard to the Communist period caps, is that a Fireman's (Pompieri) cap in the middle? The red looks nearly like faded maroon and the badge looks to be gold plated.

Hi Greg,

I think that middle cap is (though damaged) Romanian Army Medical service, but am not 100% sure. Do you think it is fire service?
