New badges book? 1

SIDOROV - "Badges of the Institution of Higher Education of the USSR", vol 1. The total size about 90pp of the book and there are many colored illustrations with descriptions of the badges.

Couldn't find this mentioned here (I may have mistranslated the author's name).

Possibly there are three more volumes to this work.

I don't see it at Igor's place.

It's nice to see a book on the subject with "obtainable" badges on the cover. I don't half get put off a "catalogue" of items when I've been trying to collect them for years and I don't even have one on the jacket!

Eric, do you have a copy of the Sidorov book, or is that just from a website? I ask because I would dearly love to get my hands on a copy of it. I suppose I could try the website name on the book...

Just seeing so many of my favorite higher education badges there on the cover makes me very happy.:D

Not exactly so; it is the author's site for promotion of his book, with nothing more than a few scans of some pages.

That's good news - I guess. I do want a book I can hold and the price is reasonable. However, I counted 7 different subjects that could each be a book. Do you know how all those topics are organized?

I am more interested in Academies and universities than higher or trade schools. Specifically, I would like to be able to see the progression of various diplomatic academies (I saw an early version of an ИМО badge on the cover).

You can PM with specifics about which books I would be interested in and how to make contact, etc.
