Awarded to 1915 born Vasilij Egorovich Arzhanyh, Auto-Mechanic of the 1028th Artillery Regiment on 12th July 1943.

Head of the Auto-Repair Worksop, Military-Technical Provisions of the Regiment, Senior Sergeant Technical Service Arznanyh, Vasilij Egorovich for that, he showed exceptional initiative, perseverance and mastery in the affair of recovering trophy vehicles, their mastering and utilisation and repair of vehicles of domestic makes. Beginning from the month of April until 10th July with units of the brigade Comrade Arzhanyh restored: seven trophy vehicles of the makes - Three "Lancia", Two "SPA", One "Dodge", and One "Ford" that he has added to our fleet - For working to position the regiment with excellent traction. In addition to repair and maintenance of vehicles of the aforementioned makes of the brigade Comrade Arzhanyh has master vehicles of the make "Studebaker".

During this time the 1028th Artillery Regiment were pushing to the Donets near Belgorod and holding the line before the push on Har'kov. It is interesting that they were capturing Italian vehicles as well as US Lend-Lease vehicles that had previously been captured from the Soviets.
