Dubious Ribbon Bar?

NewRibbonbar.jpg

This one seems to me to be very odd, more than just an incorrectly assembled ribbon bar.

I've not photographed it yet but the construction is actually very nicely backed felt. If it did prove to be a fantasy I'd be quite happy as it fits in with my photographic project and academic article very nicely.

Would anyone be able to suggest their concerns or issues please?

Cheers.

Re: Dubious Ribbon Bar?

All fake and made up. Not only are they in the wrong order and mandatory awards are missing, but the combination of awards is also highly unlikely, not to mention impossible. Don't waste your money nor ruin your project with crap like this :thumbsdown

Re: Dubious Ribbon Bar?

The first thing I noticed about this bar was that, for it's large size, there is no "replication" of awards- in other words, I've never seen just one of each award on a bar this size. And that was just the first thing that threw me off. I agree with Tretov- don't bother with this one.

Re: Dubious Ribbon Bar?

Although I rarely say "never", the depicted award combination is extremely, highly unlikely.

Re: Dubious Ribbon Bar?

And why, if the alleged owner, allegedly awarded the XX RKKA medal, it skips all the other ones till the 50th ann. one? That´s the first weird thing I noticed.

Finally, the campaign awards combo just made me laugh. Maybe it was possible, but for a guy with those orders awarded? I doubt it. I´d expect at least one Red Star and a OGPW.

If awarded the XX RKKA, why would he then have received the 10 and 15, even 20 years of service awards (and yet be abscent in 1948 when the XXX SA&N was issued)? And if he got the RKKA award, which more or less required service as early as civil war or at least the years after, how could he get the Personal Courage award in 1989? No way this is a good bar.

Tretov,
Why do you have to be you, goddamn it!? :D

IMHO this ribbon bar isn´t half bad... to have a Red Alert 3 character wear it!

Re: Dubious Ribbon Bar?

Completely bogus. Not even worth figuring out what the foreign awards might be.
If it were on a metal rack I'd consider making something realistic out of the parts.

Re: Dubious Ribbon Bar?

Thank you ever so much gentlemen for the information, I'm so pleased that I am able to read them correctly and my instincts are firing on all cylinders :D
It's the sort of bar I'd started to make up to tell a weird and wonderful story when I conceived of my project, it's a shame that folk are actually passing off goods like these as genuine..

Bless you all for your advice :thumbsup

ps. This one I bought a few weeks ago, I particularly liked the bravery in fire.
