The Soviet Combat Merit Medal was awarded by the Ukaz of 8.9.69 for WW2/post-war cooperation on the 25th anniversary of the Communist Bulgarian revolution/coup. I was able to get a copy of the Ukaz and confirm the award. The only other medal I've seen from this Ukaz was a Red Star posted on another forum (I think the thread has been deleted, unfortunately).

This group was nearly split and survived two months in the postal system, but it's safe now!

I'll post all the documents one per message. Sorry for the length but that's the way the resizing worked out. If anyone would like more scans, please let me know. I think that, just as in the USSR, administrative mistakes took place once in a while, and this is simply one of them.

Double awardings were common. I have at least a dozen double award Bulgarian groups. Admin. usually caused the error such as getting one in the mail and one in person as most of the later commemoratives were issued "en mass". A nice group which should display VERY well. I hope you didn't pay too much (as in a 2 or higher number as the first digit). Don't eat them all at once!
