Hi Esteban,

Sorry about this... No intention about this, but this trip in Chile (wonderful Chile I might say) was between other trips, and I had not a lot of time to plan it...

I went to Chile end of March, this year, for a business trip, and managed to visit Santiago and Valparaiso / Vina del Mar... with a special mention to one of the older vineyards of Chile : Santa Rita .

You have understood it : a wonderful place with very nice people. A superb experience !!!
In Valparaiso, I had the opportunity to pay a visit to the Maritime / Navy Museum. In Valparaiso and Santiago, I have seen two of Pablo Neruda's houses, including the one where his Lenin and Nobel prizes are displayed. I'll post pics if you are interested.

A real super trip!!! Be sure I'll come back for holidays (I want ro go to Easter Island!!!!!!).

Cheers.

Ch.

# of Countries is Off

This is a neat graphic, though the way they count "countries" is a little off. They include as unique countries places like the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, both of which are territories of the United States. While they have their unique cultures, you will still need a U.S. visa to visit.......

51 countries here

Many more to go

Having lived in 6 countries (and in the near future 7) on 3 continents helps as I more and more enjoy travelling in my more immediate surrroundings rather than taking a 14 hour plane ride.

I also downloaded somewhere a socalled "freedom index" list of countries and have found on this list that I tend to prefer travelling to countries with rather dictatorial regimes - good weather, interesting history, and not many tourists

This seems to be a very well traveled group of forum members here. Most of the people I know have never travelled overseas (I am from the USA) and they really do not understand what they are missing. I went to Normandy (Loire River and Paris as well) and am not already saving for the next adventure (Germany next time I think). CLete

Hello to ALL,

Didn't know I've traveled to so many places till I start listing them out. Fifty-eight countries. Hopefully breaking sixty by the end of this year
