Trandasir, Efim Petrovich, Beetroot Farmer?
Here is a new set that I just paid off. It is a really nice double ORBL to one man! I think that they are a beautiful set.

Re: Efim Petrovich Trandasir
So we're looking for the ukazes of 15/02/1957 and 31/12/1965. Hopefully there will be a pair of them for the same line of work to try and get a better picture of what this person did.
He is not listed on Podvignaroda so won't be a GPW veteran due to age (too young most likely). I have always found it quite strange that there were never parallel 2nd and 3rd etc numbered Red Banners Of Labour.

Re: Efim Petrovich Trandasir
Nice set!
The 1965 decree seems to be for "pacesetters of beet-growing." Nothing conclusive on the 1957 award. |

Re: Efim Petrovich Trandasir
Beetroot farming would go hand in hand with the western Ukrainian name.

Re: Efim Petrovich Trandasir
That is really cool. I bet that he would give "Schrute Farms" a run for their money.
I have a question. What level would this man have been at to receive this award? A basic worker, shift forman, perhaps in charge of the entire farm, or higher level? |

Re: Efim Petrovich Trandasir
Usually this level of award you are looking at management rather than "hands on" but it is not impossible for the labourer to get the higher end award (thinking a young Gorbachev).
Dwight as farm manager would get the Red Banner Of Labour but cousin Mose would probably only get a Medal. Eah macht sei eahvet faddich un shneit si katz in gerechtichkeit!

Re: Efim Petrovich Trandasir, Beetroot Farmer?
So this is what we're going to call research nowadays? Someone finds a decree for a certain date (No offensive Alex!), we are just going to assume that that's the right decree, and we are just going to assume that the recipient lived in Western Ukraine, just because his last name is of Romanian origin?
Without seeing his name listed in that particular decree, none of this can be assumed. |

Any information contrary or supportive will be gratefully received I am sure.
Saying "No because..." is more constructive than just "no". We are exploring a single avenue of information here if there is more information to add please add it and we can get a broader scope. Every journey begins with a single step. Research; the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.

In this case, we've jumped to conclusions. If we found the other ukaz and if it matched, we would have a better picture. At best, we could say "the recipient's work was likely connected to beet-farming." Maybe second best, "agriculture." |
