One question: does the gram weight refer to 24k (pure) gold and Silver or to the different alloys known. f.e. 583`gold for the OPW Ist class ?

I wondered about this a while ago as well. I contacted Mondvor and they said the values are for the metallic CONTENTS and not the weights of the items that contain the medal.

Thus for example if you had a golden hammer and sickle element on a medal which weighed 2g, and no other elements contained gold, then the gold content would be 2g if it was made with pure gold and 1g if it was made with a 50% gold alloy.
