Excellent original Bavarian Hartschier Leibgarde helmet worn by the Bavarian palace guard troop or Royal house regiment. Nickeled helmet shell with brass decoration including studs and edging. Ornate leather backed chin strap with circular ear bosses with crown to centre. The large gilt helmet plate with Royal Coat of Arms surrounded by floral decoration and is complete with the lion to top which was worn for normal service. Also there is a hole in the centre of the helmet below the lion so a white horsehair plume could be used on fulkl dress occasions replaing the lion. It has the original leather liner and the rear peak in numbered 41 please note repair below plate under chin strap
