Here is a 17 Corps Gold Civil War Presentatiion Pin Given to Captain Hickenlooper. His Name is Engraved on Back of the Star This is a Vicksburg Campaign Gold Medal. The Names of Commanders are on Each Side of the Shield. Some of the Names are Jackson, Gibson, Hills, Raymond ETC. Hickenlooper Was a Famous Ohio Politician, industrialistand Union Army Lieutenant Colonelof Artillery and Engineers. In recognition of his service, in 1866 he was nominated and confirmed for appointment as a Brevet Brigadier General from March 13, 1865.
The Medal is 14k Gold and Weighs 11.8 Grams. This Piece is 6 1/2 inches in Height, The Star Measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter and the Ribbon section measures 1 3/4 inches in height.
