Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry Sword Saber - Roby - 1863?:

US Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry Sword. The ricasso is marked "C. Roby" over "Chelms", and the reverse has "U.S." over "1863"? The top edge of the pommel has an "A.G.M.". The grip is a little loose since part of the wood is missing, the guard and pommel are tight. The knuckleguard is deformed. The grip is down to the wood. The twisted wire wrap is gone. The blade is straight, unsharpened, a few nicks, has a darkened patina, and it has pitting with some surface rust scattered throughout. Leather washer is missing. No scabbard. Length of the blade is 34 1/2" (1 1/8" wide and 5/16" thick), and the sword is 40 1/2".Check out my other War Items! Including Several Swords and Many Bayonets!!
