History collection: Lot of English civil war period items and a grape-shot from Captain Henry Morgan’s brig. Rare Grape-Shot
17th-century armor or older, plate for a lobster tail helmet, gorget, ventail, or aventail—I’m not sure, but it’s one of those.
Included is an English Civil War period cannonball, purchased from Somerset . comes with 5 period musket balls a few from Scotland. the cannonball, I believe, is uncleaned and would look good if electrolysis cleaning were done, but I haven’t had the time to do it.
Also in the lot is an original 17th-century, very rare, small cannonball or grape-shot from Captain Henry Morgan’s brig that sank during an earthquake of 1692. It was on display at the Port Royal museum for many years and sold when it closed.
Comes with 6 pirate age Spanish cobs and a card of Henry Morgan. Certificate of Authenticity included.
These would be a valuable addition to any collection focused on original period items , English Civil War, or the golden age of the Pirate And providing a unique insight into the military tactics and weaponry of the 17th century.
