RARE BATTLEFIELD Maryland Confederate Civil War buckle from Antietam Sharpsburg:
$5499.00

BEYOND RARE Antietam Sharpsburg Maryland battlefield recovered Confederate state seal belt buckle plate , puppy paw studs, fantastic condition! Found in the late 1860s-early 1870s era on the Stull Farm. I have owned several of the belt plates over the past 40 years but NEVER a battlefield recovery (pickup) from one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. The plate is in fine condition for an artifact and clearly was picked up only a few years after the famous battle. Museum and investment grade all the way! This item was recovered long before there was a battlefield park and came from private property. A copy of the original deed of transfer for the farm from the Stull family to William Houser in 1886 is included. The buckle was likely manufactured for the State of Maryland militia by Emerson Gaylord of Chicopee, Massachusetts, prior to the outbreak of hostilities. Gaylord also manufactured the more common rectangular type Maryland plates.Lifetime Guarantee of 100% authenticity!
