Description:

Rare World War II Japanese NavalAdmiral's dirk available. This dagger, among the rarest of Japanese dirks, would make an important addition to any collection.


The handmade gendai blade has the horimono inscription Wakatsu Onshi 'Imperial Gift Presented to You'. This dirk was carried by Admiral Nishizo Tsukahara during World War 2. His name is inscribed on the nakago.


This oversized dirk measures 14 11/16" overall. Photo 2 above shows the large size of this dirk as compared to an Imperial Household dirk. The blade itself measures 8 15/16". The nihonto handmade blade was made by Ogawa Kanemitsu.


This dirk is of the highest quality and condition.




Condition:

This rare Japanese Naval Admiral's Dirk is in fine condition. All fittings are in exceptional condition, including the wire handle wrap. The blade is in good wartime polish with only a few carbon stains.
