The sword is mounted with an exceptional quality Persian made blade of fine Wootz damascus steel, deeply chiseled and gold damascened with calligraphy and various maker marks and cartouches, showing dark gray patina overall with very active watered patterns throughout showing few blemished areas and what appears to be an original period weld towards the tip. Solid and intact overall with its original period fabric over wood scabbard having one gilt brass mount and possibly later steel tip, one small damage to the wood at the spine area of the blade. Rare Jeweled saber of far better than average quality, dating from the 18th to early 19th century.
