FOR SALE : This is a one of a kind, 1:1 reproduced sun compass that was used on the famous SAS ( Special Air Service ) and LRDG ( Long Range Desert Group ) vehicles in the North Africa campain against the DAK Deutsches Afrika Korps of Erwin Rommel.These compasses where used on the WILLYS MB / FORD GPW who where modified for fighting in these conditions.
This compass was hand made ( a LOT of man hours !! ) from the exact drawings and measuremens from the only remaining original in the Imperial War Museum. This museum quality replica was made about 10 years ago and was on display ever since. It shows age and patina and was made to give it the correct look.It is fully functional like the originals and absolutely the VERY BEST replica on the planet.
