The presently offeredspecimen exhibits signs of period use, as well as several issues caused bylong-term storage. Toning is noted across the entire surface, imparting a beigeto light tan hue to the paper. This toning is present on the clip, as well asthe larger mount. The toning is somewhat darker at the edges, especially wherethe signature has been glued to the mount. A few stains are scatteredthroughout the piece, the largest being at the top to the left of center. Theaforementioned glue has bled through somewhat on the clip, adversely affectinga few letters in the signature. One harsh fold can be found near the top ofmount, with several bends and wrinkles noted on both pieces (especially at theleft on the mount). The edges are somewhat irregular, with both the autographand mount appearing to be trimmed. Measuring approximately 2⅜ x 6⅝ inchesoverall, with the autograph clip being 1⅛ x 4¼ inches, this piece would framenicely with a period portrait of McCook in uniform. Any additional questionsregarding condition should be addressed before purchasing.
