WWII Collectible Samuel Lowe Co. Large Action Paint Book, 1943 USA ~ Frameable?:
$15.95

Vintage WWII Action Paint Book for Children, copyright 1943, Samuel Lowe Co., Kenosha WI, printed in USA.

60 illustrated pages plus front and back covers, bound by two small staples. 13.25\" tall, 9.5\" wide.

This is not a pristine book, but it is in respectable shape for an 80-year-old artifact that started life as a child\'s play thing.

Please read the following description carefully.

Binding edge is intact but worn. Inside pages have turned brown with age, giving it a \"sepia-tone\" vibe. Some pages are lightly speckled with water stains. About 3/4 of the pages are crumpled at the top near the binding. A prior owner used crayon to carefully color about 10 of the 60 illustrations, but the majority were left untouched. On one page, toward the back, they used a dark watercolor paint and it bled through to the next page. The center-most page has separated from the staples and is loose inside. Some of the pages at the back have an imprint from some small object upon which the book was likely stacked in storage over the years. Part of the illustration on the back cover is damaged where someone pulled off (with tape maybe?) a swath of the surface. That page is not ripped or torn, just missing part of the illustration. Most of the photos of this item depict its flaws for selling transparency. I didn\'t want to photograph every page, but the photo showing the soldier using his walkie-talkie and the destroyer is representative of the better pages in the book.

A WWII buff will appreciate this educational and patriotic coloring/paint book. A description accompanies each illustration, explaining how the USA used various equipment, weapons, ammunition, and personnel to fight the war. There are lots of illustrations depicting the various aircraft and sea vessels employed, and, of course, pictures of military personnel in their various roles.

It might be suitable for framing as wall art, too.

I am a hobby seller and not a dealer. I bought this item at an antique store about five years ago intending to give it as a gift. Unfortunately, the intended recipient died before Christmas arrived.
I acknowledge orders promptly and ship in 3 days or less (usually less).
