WW2 CBI // China Burma India 23rd Fighter Group Silk Banner HUGE & RARE :
$14500.00

DESCRIPTION: WW2 CBI // China Burma India Very Early War .This depicts the original 23rd Fighter Group Insignia . It is amulti colored embroidered silk banner HUGE & RARE.The insignia depicts a Disney Tiger wearing an Uncle Sam hat tearing thru a Chinese Sun emblem with his claws .This insignia was developed shortly after the AVG / Flying Tigers disbanded. This is a phenomenal piecethat in my opinion hassurvived in incredible condition. The colors are very bright, andthere is none of ; the color running ,or bleeding as I\'ve seen on many other examples .The 5th pic shows it mountedin it\'s Custom made clear UV Resistant Plexiglas frame. It is 100% framed to the Highest Museum Standards. The frame measures just about 36\" x 36\" square. The person who framed this was very much a Professional and I am very impressed by the thought which went into the overall quality and execution.I briefly removed it from the frame for the pics as the glare was brutal. The pictures I\'ve posted really do not do the piece justice it is very bright and the size makes it command attention wherever it resides.

In the last Photo (#7) you will see the same insignia painted to the front of a P-40 fighter plane .Posing in front of it are L to R : John Alison , Major Tex Hill , Ajax Baumler, and Mack Mitchell.

This will be the centerpiece for some lucky buyers Collection.

I will entertain all realistic offers commensurate with its rarity / scarcity ................Thanks Peter
