Hello
I am trying to gather information on the awards of soviet leaders. Of course, the list of awards of Stalin and Brezhnev is known (could be found in the book - Marshals & fleet admirals CCCP).
YURI VLADIMIROVICH ANDROPOV
Hero of Socialist Labor
Order of Lenin (4)
Order of the October Revolution
Order of Red Banner
Order of the Red Banner of labor (3)
Supreme Soviet of the USSR badge, and?..........
Under the banner of Marxism-Leninism, under the leadership of the Communist Party--forward to new victories in the construction of communism!
"Was decorated with three Lenin Orders (he received his first while still a harvester operator), Orders of October Revolution and the Red Banner of Labor, "Sign of Honor," and medals. Nobel Prize winner (1990). He also has many foreign decorations and awards. He remains a colonel in reserve."
No mention of being awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor, although there is mention of him awarding/nominating someone else, Chernenko, I believe.
He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. But he did not get it. ;)
Stateleaders usually get foreign orders when they are on a state visit. I could not think of any country that would have had Lenin as their guest while he still was alive. When he was in exile he visted about every country in Europe, but he surely did not get any orders from them at that time.
Lenins father is a completely different story. He held the St. Anne Order I believe.
