Alexei,

Thanks for the information.
That theory sounds reasonable.

Guys,

I should also mention that there are dark green and blue cover variations.

Oh Yeah!! Mine has a Dark Green Cover. What was the difference between the Green and Blue document cover?

Mike,

I have no idea. It would seen that all blue ones are from the "AB" (Cyrilic, of course) serie and the green ones start with "VG", so it is possible that the blue cover docs are earlier issues. Unfortunately they are not dated.

BTW, the rarest of them is a soft cover card with Andropov faximilie.

My opinion about document:
I din not see it in hard cover.
My father has such badge. He is veteran of WWII. His document made of "cheap paper". And rank not stated.
I think, documents with hard cover were given to people, who was in Militaty at that time(1970). And Rank stated in document.

I am sorry, but that's not true. I have seen a hard cover document issued to a retired Major.

Ya don't see these babies too often.
And it's a tiny one, too! about 2.25 x 2.75 inches or 57mm by 72mm folded.

Included is a regular award booklet for scale.

The first entry is for rank (звание). The other three are, of course, his name.

I've got several spare 25th ann. badge docs kicking around the house, mostly in sets of docs. ;)

Oddly, the number of 25th Ann. badges I see in the bazaars has also really dropped off lately. I guess everything is slowing drying up.

Can anybody say if this badge is real?
I only have this picture and don´t understand what the Document says.
