Badge "Excellent Border Guard".
#1
These are very similar to the Soviet awards except for the "hanger", the material used and the pin back. The hanger bears the PMR flag colours (red-green-red) and the material used is a heavy alloy. The pin back is of a design similar to one used in the USSR, although the pin is of a very light gauge steel- just doesn't feel sturdy enough to me. The back bears a nearly 100% reverse image of the front.

Very nice.:thumbsup

The medals are virtually identical to their V1 USSR counterparts (front and back). The hangers, however, look more like those of the Medal for Distinguished Military Service (sans cloth and star). They do seem a bit thicker and smoother-edged (if that is an appropriate term) than the Soviet ones as well.

I'm sure you saw a very similar approach to the excellent MVD badge I posted.:) The apples didn't fall far from the tree.

I like the suspension; reminds me of the Outstanding military service medal of the USSR. Very "romantic" :)
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Are now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

The Who, Won't get fooled again
